Bahrs has draw extensive experience in prototype metal stamping to bring your ideas to life. Rapid metal prototyping process turns concepts into custom prototype parts. This allows your company to build on the success of the initial prototype models.
The stamped part prototype process is the construction of physical objects, using solid freeform fabrication. This allows us to produce sheet metal prototype models and prototype parts. We can then apply it even more broadly, to manufacture production-quality parts in smaller numbers. The stamped part prototype is based on a three-dimensional virtual drawing, as from a CAD file, to automate the fabrication of a sheet metal prototype model. This stamped part prototype physical model can reveal more details about the performance of a product early in the development cycle.

While not a primary service, the specialists at Bahrs are pleased to consider building a prototype for you. However, due to economic considerations, our prototyping is limited to those opportunities where we would be stamping the final parts in production quantities.
A standard part of the process of building a prototype is the joint investigation to discover whether the part can later be produced efficiently and effectively. It will also reveal whether the prototype will operate the way you visualized in practice. In short, building a prototype consists of more than just building a prototype.

Wire EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining)
- For prototype pieces, production items, repair of damaged die sections, and inserting new features.
- The VZ500L is a linear motor driven machine featuring a direct-drive, non-contact, vibration-free mechanism that offer unrivaled acceleration and positioning accuracy with no backlash, giving Bahrs Die & Stamping, the ability to wire edm with a sense of security knowing they will not lose any accuracy over the years. The positioning accuracy is monitored by glass scales, the most accurate form of position measurement available.
The VZ500L wire threader, Super Jet Annealing High Speed AWT, is very reliable. The annealing function heats, stretches to a pointed end and cuts the wire ensuring higher success rates threading wire through a hole on a submerged workpiece or a small diameter hole. This time-saving feature allows Bahrs to meet very aggressive deadlines.
Water Jet Machining
